Shopping Hiatus, revisited.

My ass has been kicked by finances recently. Sickness making paychecks smaller, unexpected expenses, and repayments that were necessary. I've decided that my shopping has been fun, but it needs to take a backseat in my life at the moment. So, the month of October will include these stipulations:
1. Clothing is prohibited, except for Halloween costume needs. I will do my best to create a costume from what I already own.
2. Beauty supplies are restricted, allowing only: 3 Step, Foundation, Mascara, Blush, Nailpolish (A great way to mix-up a look).
3. Accessories are also prohibited, including: Handbags, Jewelry, Shoes.
4. Seasonal accessories are acceptable, only if required for warmth.

I'm someone who needs guidelines and boundaries, and setting them myself keeps me honest. Writing this on my blog gives me a reason to stick to it.

Fall has finally arrived and I was able to go to an apple orchard for the first time in years, and how disappointing. There was no whimsy, just commerce. The last place you want to see over-saturation of product is an apple orchard. Give me cider, butter, and apples and You own me. But, bury me in all your other particular products, and you've lost me. I think I can say that about most products and companies. We've come to expect an overwhelming amount of information, but I continue to find that the only way to process and manufacture properly, you need to focus on one task, one trade, and leave it at that. Everyone does everything these days, and that is the only way they know how to grow. I am by no means business savvy, and barely business aware, but my idea of a productive business would be to create a product that was available to everyone. Not in a philanthropic sense, but rather a thoughtful sense. Do I create items that stand the test of time, and are capable of crossing the line between rich and poor with ease? Is this even possible? I feel like with the technology we have in this day and age, we should be able to create sustainable, honest, and beautiful products that don't create a stigma. Yes? No?


Anyway, there are several other things (See: Stressors) on my mind, ie. quitting smoking. Fortunately, R is very supportive and has absurd amounts of patience. I am so grateful for the things I do have. Here are some pretty pictures of stuff I see, sometimes.
